The course focuses on methodological skills integral to becoming a producer of psychological research. Students will learn how to identify knowledge gaps in the literature, to use conceptual models to visualize hypothetical relationships, to select a research design most appropriate for their questions, and to interpret more complex patterns of data.
Notes: *1. Beginning in Fall 2028, STAB22H3/STAB23H3 will no longer satisfy the statistics prerequisite for this course. Students planning to take this course in Fall 2028 or later must complete the PSYB06H3 prerequisite, unless they have previously completed one of the retired PSY options (PSYB07H3) or (PSYC08H3). 2. Priority will be given to students in the Specialist/Specialist Co-op programs in Psychology, Mental Health Studies, and Neuroscience (Cognitive stream), and the Specialist Co-op program in Neuroscience (Stage 1). Students in the Major/Major Co-op programs in Psychology and Mental Health Studies will be admitted as space permits.
