SOCB20H3: The City and the Fight Against Climate Change

Our societies must transform themselves to reduce dependence on fossil energy sources and protect from climate change impacts. Cities hold the lion’s share of the capacity to foster these transformations, but they are also complex places where actions are fraught with contention. This course will critically examine urban policies and social innovations that have been enacted to address the climate crisis and how cities can foster justice while enacting climate action.
