CHMD65H3: Chemistry in Medical Diagnosis

This course introduces the chemical principles underlying medical diagnosis. Topics include disease biomarkers, analytical methods for disease detection in clinic lab, and the chemistry of medical imaging. Students will also develop skills in literature research, critical analysis, and scientific communication through reviews, presentations, discussions, and proposal writing.

CHMB16H3 and CHMB31H3 and CHMB42H3 and [CHMB62H3 or BIOC12H3], and at least 0.5 credit at the C-level in CHM courses.
Natural Sciences
Priority enrolment will be given to students in the Specialist Program in Medicinal and Biological Chemistry, and the Specialist Program in Chemistry, followed by students in Major Program in Biochemistry, and Major Program in Chemistry.
